Determination of study-related fees for the academic year of 2015/2016 and 2016/2017

in accordance with § 58 of Law on Universities no. 111/1998 Coll. - Tuition Fees

Part 1

Determination of further reductions of study-related fees for the academic year of 2015/2016.


  1. With effect from March 2, 2016 I hereby stipulate the following additional reductions of study-related fees in continuing Master's study disciplines of Geopolitical Studies and International Relations:

    1. Reductions may be provided in the amount of 1,000 EUR and 2,000 EUR on the fees for the summer semester of the academic year of 2015/2016.

    2. Students of individual study disciplines in their first and second year of studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past winter semester of 2015/2016 and the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion.

    3. A student who ranks among the top 20% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the summer semester of 2015/2016.

    4. A student who ranks among the top 10% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 2,000 EUR of the fee for the summer semester of 2015/2016.

    5. The reductions according to the two preceding paragraphs c. and d. may not be combined.

    6. In the event the number of students within a given study discipline drops below ten, only the reduction in accordance with paragraph c. applies - for the best-achieving student, and the reduction in accordance with paragraph b. - for the second best-achieving student.

  2. With effect from March 2, 2016 I hereby stipulate the following additional reductions of study-related fees in continuing Master's study discipline of International Economic and Political Studies. This reduction is analogously governed by the stipulations found in paragraph 1; however, the reduction always amounts to 1,000 EUR of the fee for the summer semester of 2015/2016.

  3. With effect from March 2, 2016 I hereby stipulate the following additional reductions of study-related fees in continuing Master's study discipline of International Security Studies:

    1. Students in their second year of studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past winter semester of 2015/2016 and the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion.

    2. A student who has achieved the best study results according to the previous Letter a) is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the summer semester of 2015/2016.

    3. A student who within his studies undertakes a semester stay at University of Konstanz has a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the summer semester of 2015/2016.

    4. A student who is studying at University of Konstanz and arrives at FSV UK for a semester stay in the framework of his studies has a reduction in the amount of 3,000 EUR of the fee for the summer semester of 2015/2016.


   


Part Two

Determination of study-related fees for the academic year of 2016/2017


  1. Annex no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University, as amended governs in compliance with Article 33 para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University the amount of study-related fees. This provision determines the reductions and a procedure for the payment of fees associated with the studies within a study program held in a foreign language.

  2. The fee associated with the studies in a study program held in a foreign language is always due before each semester and a reduced fee is determined by the provision herein in the amount for 1 semester (a fee for the whole year is, therefore, a double amount).

  3. I hereby stipulate a reduced amount of fees for the studies of a study program offered in a foreign language (§ 58 para. 5 of the Law no.111/1998 Coll., as amended) for the academic year of 2016/2017 in the following amount for individual study programs and their study disciplines:

    • Bachelor's study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline in Economics and Finance 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in International Economic and Political Studies, a study discipline in  International Economic and Political Studies 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Political Studies, a study discipline in Geopolitical Studies 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Political Studies, a study discipline in International Security Studies 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Political Studies, a study discipline in International Relations, full-time form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline in Economics and Finance 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Territorial International Studies, a study discipline in Balkan, Eurasian and Central European Studies 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam)

    • continuing Master's study program in Territorial International Studies, a study discipline in Central European Comparative Studies full-time and combined form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam)

    • continuing Master's study program in Territorial International Studies, a study discipline in European Studies full-time and combined form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam)

    • continuing Master's study program in Territorial International Studies, a study discipline in Transatlantic Studies full-time form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam)

    • continuing Master's study program in Sociology, a study discipline in Public and Social Policy full-time form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline in Corporate Finance and Strategy full-time form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam); the third part of the provision herein stipulates further special reductions

    • continuing Master's study program in Sociology, a study discipline in Sociology in European Context full-time form 3,000 EUR / semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester after completing all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar when the student is waiting to perform the state final exam)

    • doctoral study program in Economic Theory, a study discipline in Economics 250 EUR / semester

    • doctoral study program in Political Science, a study discipline in International Relations 250 EUR / semester

    • doctoral study program in Sociology, a study discipline in Sociology 250 EUR / semester

    • doctoral study program in Sociology, a study discipline in Public and Social Policy 250 EUR / semester

  4. The fee, associated with the studies in a study program offered in a foreign language in continuing Master’s study disciplines listed in paragraph 3 and based on the student's request, amounts to 300 EUR / semester also in such a case when the student is undertaking an unpaid internship for the duration of one semester and is not enrolled for any subject at Charles University during that semester. In the event the student is entitled to a fee of 300 EUR / semester according to this paragraph or paragraph 2, the reductions listed in Part Three of the provision herein no longer apply.

  5. Fees shall be paid in Czech crowns via bank transfer to the account no. 85033011/0100, at KB (Komerční banka) branch in Prague 1, variable symbol 211, constant symbol 308. Fees shall be paid in Euros via bank transfer to the account no. 107-8975070267 /0100, at KB (Komerční banka) branch in Prague 1, variable symbol 211, constant symbol 308.

  6. Upon the statement by the dean of the faculty, the Rector may waive, reduce or defer due dates of the study-related fees in the cases referred to in Article 4 Annex no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University.




Part Three

Reductions in fees in the academic year of 2016/2017



  1. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies of a Bachelor’s study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline of Economics and Finance and a continuing Master's study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline of Economics and Finance applicable to students in their first year of studies:

    1. Reductions may be provided in the amount of 1,000 EUR and 2,000 EUR of the fee for each semester of the first academic year.

    2. Allocation of reductions is proposed on the basis of the quality of the application of individual applicants, whilst the quality of the application is assessed according to clear pre-defined criteria.

    3. Director of the Institute of Economic Studies at FSV UK decides on the provision of a concrete reduction on the basis of recommendation of the selection committee.

    4. Information about a provision of reduction shall be sent to students together with a notification about the result of the selection proceedings.

  2. With effect from October 1, 2016 and in accordance with Article 33 para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University and Annex no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University, as amended (Tuition Fees), I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies of a Bachelor’s study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline of Economics and Finance applicable to students in their second or higher year of studies in the academic year of 2016/2017 and with effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline of Economics and Finance applicable to students in their second or higher year of studies in the academic year of 2016/2017:

    1. Students of individual study disciplines in an individual year of their studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past academic year and the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion. It applies that a reduction can only be granted to a student who fulfills the condition of the minimum number of credits to be awarded a merit scholarship in accordance with the Scholarship rules at FSV UK and who studies no longer than a standard period of study (ie. Bachelor's studies 3 years and Master's studies two years).

    2. A student who ranks among the top 20% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for each semester of the next academic year.

    3. A student who ranks among the top 10% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 2,000 EUR of the fee for each semester of the next academic year.

    4. The reductions according to the two preceding paragraphs b. and c. may not be combined.     

    5. In the event the number of students within a given study discipline drops below ten, only the reduction in accordance with paragraph c. applies - for the best-achieving student

  3. With effect from October 1, 2016 and in accordance with Article 33 para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University and Annex no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University, as amended (Tuition Fees), I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies of a Bachelor’s study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline of Economics and Finance and a continuing Master's study program of Economics and Finance, study disciplines of Economics and Finance and Corporate Finance and Strategy in the academic year of 2016/2017 as follows:

  4. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in continuing Master's programs of Geopolitical Studies and International Relations:

    1. Reductions may be provided in the amount of 1,000 EUR and 2,000 EUR of the fee for winter and summer semester of the academic year of 2016/2017. Students of individual study disciplines in the first and second year of their studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past semester and the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion. For the first-year students, the results of admission proceedings will serve as a criterion in winter semester.

    2. A student who ranks among the top 20% best-achieving (in accordance with criteria in Letter a.) is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the next semester.

    3. A student who ranks among the top 10% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 2,000 EUR of the fee for the following semester.

    4. The reductions according to the two preceding paragraphs b. and c. may not be combined.

    5. In the event the number of students within a given study discipline drops below ten, only the reduction in accordance with paragraph c. applies - for the best-achieving student, and the reduction in accordance with paragraph b. - for the second best- achieving student.

  5. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's program of International Economic and Political Studies. Accordingly, the stipulations in paragraph 4 apply; however, the reduction may only amount to 1,000 EUR of the fee for the respective semester and no reductions are granted to the students in their first year of studies in the winter semester according to the result of the selection proceedings.

  6. With effect from March 2, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's program of International Security Studies:

    1. Students of in the second year of studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past semester and in the winter and summer semesters the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion.

    2. A student who has achieved the best study results according to the previous Letter is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the respective seme.

    3. A student who within his studies undertakes a semester stay at University of Konstanz has a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for that semester.

    4. A student who is studying at University of Konstanz and arrives at FSV UK for a semester stay in the framework of his studies has a reduction in the amount of 3,000 EUR of the fee.

  7. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's program of Sociology in European Context.  Students who are foreign nationals of the countries listed in the table in Annex no. 1 of the provision herein (the countries with low gross national income per capita), will be offered a reduction in the amount of 1,000 EUR in both semesters of the academic year of 2016/2017.





Part Four

Efficiency



1. Part One of the measure herein comes into effect on March 8, 2016, Part Two and Three become effective as of October 1, 2016.

    3. A student who ranks among the top 10% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 2,000 EUR of the fee for each semester of the next academic year.

    4. The reductions according to the two preceding paragraphs b. and c. may not be combined.     

    5. In the event the number of students within a given study discipline drops below ten, only the reduction in accordance with paragraph c. applies - for the best-achieving student

  3. With effect from October 1, 2016 and in accordance with Article 33 para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University and Annex no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University, as amended (Tuition Fees), I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies of a Bachelor’s study program in Economics and Finance, a study discipline of Economics and Finance and a continuing Master's study program of Economics and Finance, study disciplines of Economics and Finance and Corporate Finance and Strategy in the academic year of 2016/2017 as follows:

  4. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in continuing Master's programs of Geopolitical Studies and International Relations:

    1. Reductions may be provided in the amount of 1,000 EUR and 2,000 EUR of the fee for winter and summer semester of the academic year of 2016/2017. Students of individual study disciplines in the first and second year of their studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past semester and the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion. For the first-year students, the results of admission proceedings will serve as a criterion in winter semester.

    2. A student who ranks among the top 20% best-achieving (in accordance with criteria in Letter a.) is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the next semester.

    3. A student who ranks among the top 10% best-achieving is entitled to a reduction of 2,000 EUR of the fee for the following semester.

    4. The reductions according to the two preceding paragraphs b. and c. may not be combined.

    5. In the event the number of students within a given study discipline drops below ten, only the reduction in accordance with paragraph c. applies - for the best-achieving student, and the reduction in accordance with paragraph b. - for the second best- achieving student.

  5. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's program of International Economic and Political Studies. Accordingly, the stipulations in paragraph 4 apply; however, the reduction may only amount to 1,000 EUR of the fee for the respective semester and no reductions are granted to the students in their first year of studies in the winter semester according to the result of the selection proceedings.

  6. With effect from March 2, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's program of International Security Studies:

    1. Students of in the second year of studies will be calculated an average grade of all the results from examinations and credit tests according to the rules for calculating merit scholarships for the past semester and in the winter and summer semesters the students will be ranked from the best to the worst-achieving according to such a criterion.

    2. A student who has achieved the best study results according to the previous Letter is entitled to a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for the respective seme.

    3. A student who within his studies undertakes a semester stay at University of Konstanz has a reduction of 1,000 EUR of the fee for that semester.

    4. A student who is studying at University of Konstanz and arrives at FSV UK for a semester stay in the framework of his studies has a reduction in the amount of 3,000 EUR of the fee.

  7. With effect from October 1, 2016 I hereby stipulate these additional reduced study-related fees for the studies in a continuing Master's program of Sociology in European Context.  Students who are foreign nationals of the countries listed in the table in Annex no. 1 of the provision herein (the countries with low gross national income per capita), will be offered a reduction in the amount of 1,000 EUR in both semesters of the academic year of 2016/2017.





Part Four

Efficiency



1. Part One of the measure herein comes into effect on March 8, 2016, Part Two and Three become effective as of October 1, 2016.
