Title:

Stipulation of study-related fees for the academic year of 2014/2015

in accordance with §58 of the Law on universities no.111/1998 coll. - study-related fees

Part I



The level of study-related fees is governed in accordance with Article 33 Para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University by an appendix no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University in the valid form. The provision herein stipulates the reductions and procedures concerning study-related fees of the study programme carried out in a foreign language.


A study-related fee of the study programme offered in a foreign language is always due prior to the commencement of each semester and the provision herein stipulates the reduced fee for the period of 1 semester (i.e. a fee for 1 year equals to twice the amount).


I am hereby stipulating the level of reduced study-related fees for a study programme offered in a foreign language (§58 Para 5 of the Law no. 111/1998 Coll., in the valid form) for the academic year of 2014/2015 in the following amount pertaining to individual study programmes and their study disciplines:


  • a bachelor’s study programme Economics and Finance, a study discipline Economics and Finance 3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination); Part II of the provision herein stipulates any extra reductions,

  • a continuing master’s study discipline International Economic and Political Studies, a study discipline International Economic and Political Studies 3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination),

  • a continuing master’s study programme Political Studies, a study discipline Geopolitical Studies  3,000 EUR/semester  (resp. 300 EUR per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination),

  • a continuing master’s study programme Political Studies, a study discipline International Security Studies 3,000 EUR/semester  (resp. 300 EUR per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination),

  • a continuing master’s study programme Economics and Finance, a study discipline Economics and Finance 3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination); Part II of the provision herein stipulates any extra reductions

  • a continuing master’s study programme International Territorial Studies, a study discipline Balkan, Eurasian and Central European Studies 3,000 EUR/semester  (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination),

  • a continuing master’s study programme International Territorial Studies, a study discipline Central European Comparative Studies, full-time and combined studies 3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination)

  • a continuing master’s study programme International Territorial Studies, a study discipline  European Studies, full-time and combined studies 3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination)

  • a continuing master’s study programme International Territorial Studies, a study discipline Transatlantic Studies, full-time studies  3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination)

  • a continuing master’s study programme Sociology, a study discipline Public and Social Policy, full-time studies  3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination)

  • a continuing master’s study programme Economics and Finance, a study discipline Corporate Finance and Strategy, full-time studies  3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination); Part II of the provision herein stipulates any extra reductions

  • a continuing master’s study programme Sociology, a study discipline Sociology in European Context, full-time studies  3,000 EUR/semester (resp. 300 EUR  per semester upon the completion of all the study obligations with the exception of a diploma seminar where a student is awaiting a completion of state final examination)

  • a doctoral study programme Economic Theory, a study discipline Economics  250 EUR/semester,

  • a doctoral study programme Political Science, a study discipline Political Science 250 EUR/semester,

  • a doctoral study programme Political Science, a study discipline International Relations 250 EUR/semester,

  • a doctoral study programme Sociology, a study discipline Sociology 250 EUR/semester,

  • a doctoral study programme Sociology, a study discipline Public and Social Policy  250 EUR/semester.



All the fee payments are to be remitted by a postal money order or bank transfer to the bank account no. 85033011/0100, Komerční banka- branch Prague 1, variable code 211, constant code 308.


In instances stipulated in Article 4 appendix no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University, the rector may waiver or reduce the study-related fees or postpone their due date based on the recommendation made by the dean of the faculty. 



Part II


  1. As of September 30, 2014 and in accordance with Article 33 Para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University and appendix no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University in the valid form (Study-related fees) I am hereby stipulating the following additional reductions in the study-related fees in a bachelor’s study programme of Economics and Finance, in a study discipline of Economics and Finance for the academic year of 2014/2015:

    1. Student’s GPA (Grade point average) for the previous academic year within the study discipline in an individual year will be calculated based on all the results achieved in the examinations and credit examinations and students will be ranked from the best-achieving to the worst-achieving based on the above-mentioned criteria.

    2. A student ranking among the 20% of best-achievers is entitled to the reduction amounting to 1,000EUR of the fee for each semester in the following academic year.

    3. A student ranking among the 10% of best-achievers is entitled to the reduction amounting to 2,000EUR of the fee for each semester in the following academic year.

    4. Reductions stated in the two previous paragraphs may not be combined.

    5. In case the number of students within the study discipline in the class is lower than 10, the reduction stated in paragraph c) applies to the best student only.

  2. As of September 30,2014 and in accordance with Article 33 Para 2 of the Statutes of Charles University and appendix no. 6 of the Statutes of Charles University in the valid form (Study-related fees) I am hereby stipulating the following additional reductions in the study-related fees in a bachelor’s study programme of Economics and Finance, in a study discipline of Economics and Finance and a continuing master’s study programme of Economics and Finance, in study disciplines of Economics and Finance and Corporate Finance and Strategy for the academic year of 2014/2015:

    1. Students whose sibling undertakes studies in the same study programme, i.e. Economics and Finance (regardless of the fact whether they study in a bachelor’s or continuing master’s programme) are entitled to a further reduction amounting to 1,000 EUR off the fee for each semester of the following academic year, provided their sibling still undertakes the studies in the same study programme. Such a reduction always applies to each sibling.

    2. The reduction for a sibling in accordance with the preceding paragraph does not apply to the students entitled to the reduction of 2,000 EUR in accordance with Part II point 1 letter c) (ranking among the 10% of best-achievers); therefore, the maximum amount of a reduction totals 2,000 EUR.




Part III



The provision herein coming into effect annuls the validity of Dean’s provision no. 17/2013 – Stipulation of study-related fees for the academic year of 2013/2014 in accordance with §58 of the Law on universities no.111/1998 coll. – study-related fees.
